Connecting to the cigarette
lighter
Power supplies using a vehicle battery
are
connected up as follows using the cable
sup-
plied for the cigarette lighter.
> Hold the USB socket at the corrugated
grip area and push it into the connect-
ing socket to the stop without employ-
ing excessive force.
> Plug the plug adapter into the cigarette
lighter.
TMC antenna*
The TMC antenna included in the acces-
sories is used to receive traffic announce-
ments.
> Push the connector on the TMC anten-
na into the socket without employing
excessive force.
GPS-antenna
Unit antenna
The GPS antenna is integrated into the
housing.
Note:
If the cigarette lighter has just been used
and is still warm, wait until this has
cooled down in its mounting.
Note:
If the engine is switched off, using
the vehicle's power supply through the
cigarette lighter will slowly drain
the vehicle battery! Do not therefore op-
erate the Traffic Assist for extended peri-
ods with the engine off.
Note:
The TMC antenna must be routed so
that it does not obstruct you while driv-
ing.
Headphones cannot be connected when
the TMC antenna is connected. Howev-
er, traffic announcements can be heard
when the headphones are connected.
Note:
The integrated GPS antenna is not suita-
ble for use in vehicles with anti-glare win-
dows (metalised thermo-glass or metal
foil, indicated by the window label - SIG-
LA SOL, SIGLA CHROM, SIGLA,
KOOL-OF, SUNGATE, etc.) and vehi-
cles with fine-meshed heating wires in
the windows.
If this is the case, use an external GPS an-
tenna. Please consult your local specialist
dealer.
*Applies only to the Traffic Assist with TMC
